Sakura is a stunning two and a half year old Dutch Shepherd who has already been through a lot in her young life. She came into rescue as a welfare case, meaning she’s had a tough start and, as a result, is more cautious around new people sadly its believed she never left the home she was born in for the first 15mths of her life. However, once Sakura feels safe and learns to trust, she transforms into a loving and playful companion who enjoys nothing more than a good cuddle and the company of other dogs.
Because of her past, Sakura can be a bit nervous or fearful when meeting new people, and it may take some time for her to warm up. Patience is key with this beautiful girl, and her new family will need to be willing to invest the time it takes for her to feel comfortable. But once that trust is built, Sakura’s true personality shines, and she becomes a joyful and affectionate dog who loves being around her family.
Sakura does well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with another friendly dog to help her build confidence. Playtime with other dogs is something she enjoys, and having a canine companion could help ease her anxiety and encourage her to be more outgoing. If you already have a confident, easygoing dog in your home, Sakura might be the perfect addition to your pack.
She’s already spayed, vaccinated, and ready to settle into her forever home. Sakura’s ideal environment would be with a family that understands her background and can provide a stable, calm setting for her to continue growing. Due to her fearful nature we feel a home without children is best for Sakura. She’s a gentle soul but needs a more predictable environment to feel at ease.
Sakura enjoys interactive play once she’s comfortable, and her intelligence as a Dutch Shepherd means she’ll need mental stimulation alongside physical exercise. She would love games that challenge her mind, like puzzle toys, or activities that allow her to burn off some energy, such as agility training. This kind of enrichment will help keep her mind and body healthy, and with time, she’ll become an even more well-rounded and confident dog.
If you’re willing to give Sakura the time and understanding she needs to feel safe and loved, you’ll be rewarded with an incredibly loyal and affectionate companion. She’s the type of dog who will form a deep bond with her family and bring a lot of joy to a home that values patience and care.
